Appointments System

We run the practice on an appointment system and, as long as you give us some notice, you will normally be able to see the doctor of your choice.

It is usually advisable to consult the same doctor each time, but you are free to see any one of us if you so wish.

Please remember that each appointment can be for one patient only.

Urgent Appointments

If you feel you really need to see a doctor urgently, you will always be seen the same day. Please try to ring us as soon as possible after 08.00. In these circumstances however, it may not be possible to see the doctor of your choice.

Telephone Advice

A doctor is usually available for telephone advice through the day outside of surgery hours, but you may need to be phoned back.

Online video consultation

You can now book an online video consultation with a Push Doctor GP.  This is a free NHS Service available from Monday to Friday between 6.00 pm – 8.30 pm. If you need to speak to a Doctor but don’t necessarily need an examination, this could be for you.  You will need a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone facilities to use this service. You will also need photographic identification. Home Visits

All doctors in the practice make home visits. Arrangements are made each day according to the availability of the doctors and pressure of work in the surgery.

Home visits generally involve a lot more of the doctor's time than a surgery consultation; we would, therefore, ask you to request a home visit only when it is impossible for you to attend the surgery. We are always willing to make arrangements for patients to be seen without waiting if their clinical condition justifies it.

Requests for home visits should be made before 10:00 where possible. Always state the patient's full name and address and give brief details of the illness.

Test Results

If you have been asked to ring for your blood test results call 01482 342473 on the following days and times:

  • Monday 14:00 – 16:00
  • Wednesday 14:00 – 16:00
  • Thursday 14:00 – 16:00
  • Friday 14:00 – 16:00

Note:

Please wait for at least one whole week before calling in order for all results to have been processed and returned to the practice.

For X-ray results please wait at least 14 days before calling as these results take longer to be processed.

Cancellations & Reminders

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to recieve confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remeber to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

Late For Your Appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.
